MIXED TAG MADNESS

HOTT STORAGE
vs.
C-NOTE & LOTUS FLOJO

Backstage, Jared McGregor, Junior stands alongside Stacey Clark as the interviewer looks up at the new superstar, mic in hand. He looks annoyed.

JMJ: Well, on with it, then, I’ve got places to be.

Stacy: Well, pardon me for wasting your time, Jared, but I wanted to get your opinion on Jordan Trance’s victory tonight.

Jared looks down at Stacey like a disappointed parent looks at their child, and smirks.

Jared: Am I supposed to be impressed?

Jared: Aisu has sold his soul to a couple of inbred ‘wrestling’ canards who couldn’t think their way out of a paper bag, and don’t even ask me to start on that other wretch disgracing the ring.

Stacey: At this point, Jared, Jordan Trance holds a win over one half of the Tag Team Champions and both contenders for the International Championship. I think you’re unfairly dismissing him.

Jared’s smirk fades, and he stares down at Stacey with an almost angry look.

Jared: I’m being more than charitable. The moment he steps in the ring with me is the moment his little ‘win streak’ snaps in twain. But you won’t see him facing me.

Jared: I’m bigger than him. Stronger. Faster. Smarter. He can’t find a way around me, so much like he claims Christian Garcia is ducking him, Jordan Trance is staying far the hell away from me.

Jared: Because he knows his little rocket ship to the moon is going to come crashing back down to Earth the moment I catch up with him.

Stacey: There’s still no match scheduled between you two, but I’m assuming, and somewhat hoping, that’ll change.

Jared smiles, looking over Stacey at the camera.

Jared: I think we’re all about ready to see me end the Trance facade.

Stacey rolls her eyes, and joins him in looking at the camera, making a ‘cut to break’ motion with her hand.

Jasmin Kaffee is still at the Pine Dojo, still sitting at the learning tree of the infamous Bill Pine. She has the look in her one good eye of a woman who has seen Some Things™ and speaks softly when she makes her first inquiry of her new teacher, who currently is grappling with a dojo young boy.

Jasmin: None of this… really looks safe, Mr.-

Bill: Sensei.

Jasmin: Sensei.

Bill: And nonsense! Safety is the foundation of my teachings. Remember, everything is….

Bill motions towards the other trainees in the room.

Trainees All in Unison: Lethal but safe.

Bill: And with that being said...

Bill hoists him into the air with an impressive display of power for a man his age, into a suplex position. However, he drops straight down, the assistant landing with alarming amount of force on the top of his head. Jasmin throws her hands over her mouth and goes pale.

Jasmin: Oh my God, what the hell are you doing!?

Bill: Relax, my student. Observe.

After a few seconds, the assistant sits up behind Bill, and gives him a thumbs up, much to Jasmin’s shock.

Jasmin: Wh-ho-wha-you broke his freakin’ neck!? How???

Bill: Safety, my dear. All one must do is embrace Safety, and no significant harm is done. Now, look again. What I am about to show you is true safety.

Jasmin watches as Bill bids the assistant to approach again, this time catching him and throwing him over his shoulder with a backdrop suplex that results in the man landing directly on his neck. The assistant is utterly motionless in the wake of the attack, and Jasmin cringes at the sight, covering her eye.

Bill: You’re not going to learn anything if you don’t watch.

Jasmin: You’re gonna kill somebody! That’s, like, illegal and stuff!

Bill: Charlie. Remember your first couple of matches on Ambition?

Jasmin: You… you watched my matches?

Bill: Of course I did. I don’t know if you know this, but people are invested in you. Regardless, you performed a picture-perfect piledriver in your first match. You nearly beat Evelyn Parker with one of the Safest brainbusters I’ve ever seen. Why are you so afraid now?

Jasmin: That was… different. I was trying to do the fancy stuff I saw other people doing, but I kept messing up. I wanted to do the London Eye, but I fell and ended up doing something else, and the second time I had seen someone do a suplex earlier and I was like, ‘okay, I can do that.’

Jasmin: I really don’t know what I’m doing. That’s why I went to Aries, but all I’ve been in the GOAT Academy is a burden on everyone else. They don’t even want me there, especially now that everything’s falling apart.

Jasmin: The guy that basically made me what I am today doesn’t even answer my calls anymore. Champ Garcia's too good for little old me, I guess. My 'friend' stabbed me in the back and tried to rake my eye out on the biggest night of my life...

Bill walks over and places his large mitt on Jasmin’s shoulder.

Bill: Let me tell you a story about one of my most famous trainees. The Lord of the Lariat himself.

Jasmin: Mugen?

Bill: Yes, the one and only. Back when he was training here he attempted to learn how to do a 450 Splash from yours truly.

Jasmin: You can do a 450 Splash?!

Bill: On a good day, yes, but Mugen, he could never get over the concept of multiple rotations in the air. So one day he finally decided to forget about trying to do more and instead did one front flip and finished off landing on his opponent with a leg drop. That was the day he came up with the Harajuku Hangover.

Bill walks away back towards the other group of regular dojo young boys and girls.

Bill: Aries may have taught you some things to get you started. You clearly have a strong grasp of the fundamentals of this sport, but you lack confidence. You believe that your association with Aries or Garcia or anyone else is what gives you that confidence, but it’s not.

Bill places his fist over his chest.

Bill: The thing that separates you from every other woman in OCW is this.

Bill: Your heart, Jasmin. In your own words, you set out to make a positive example. To make friends. To help people who were down. Yes, it didn’t go so well the first time, but I think you understand Safety well enough already.

Bill kneels down to look the seated Jasmin in the eye.

Bill: True Safety is taking a risk, knowing it might not pay off, but doing it anyway.

Jasmin: … I think I kinda get it now?

Bill: You will. I have faith. Now, watch this.

Bill proceeds to grab the assistant again and put him in a package piledriver position. Jasmin takes in a deep, frightened breath as Bill looks at her with a smile, then jumps into the air while doing a 360 degree spin. The camera cuts just as Jasmin recoils in fright, screaming.

Jasmin: OH JESUS CHRIST-!
