Dennis looked over his shoulder as the theme music started to die down. His opponent was slowly getting to his feet. Dennis blinks at Tyler, then turns his attention to Madison outside the ring. The Turmoil TV title was lowered to her. He secured the World Title around his waist before she tossed a mic up to him.
Tyler immediately gets into a fighting stance as Dennis hops off the middle turnbuckle and faces him with a mic in hand. The champion raises both hands in an attempt to show Tyler he means no harm.
Dennis: Our dance is done, Tyler. I'm not the type to attack someone after a match.
Tyler still seems on the defensive as Dennis continues to speak.
Dennis: I was fine when you challenged me. Hell, even when you doubted I could beat you. I'm used to that. I'm all for people making their own opportunities rather than just hoping to get one or getting favors from those who run things around here. It's a culture I've tried to eradicate from Turmoil...it hasn't gone so well.
Dennis: It wasn't until you insulted Madison that I had a different view of you. I'm pretty transparent with what easily gets under my skin.
Dennis motions to Madison outside the ring.
Dennis: She's not the nicest of people when she's in a bad mood. She can be condescending, passive aggressive, and downright mean...but she's always had one constant about her. She believed in me when no one else would. So...I jump to her defense, for better or worse. That's all this was. It became personal.
Dennis takes a few steps forward and offers his hand to Tyler.
Dennis: Tonight, you showed character that a lot of veterans that shall not be named lack. Things weren't going well for you and that didn't stop you from fighting. You didn't run for help or cheat. That goes along way with Turmoil’s audience. You're the kind of guy that makes me just a little bit prouder to be the Champion of Turmoil.
Tyler gives Dennis a firm handshake as the audience gets on the feet to clap for the newcomer.
Dennis: But tonight isn't about me. Turmoil wants to know who you are, and why you're here. This is your chance to tell your story,
As Dennis hands Tyler the mic, the familiar theme of Malu blares through the arena to a shower of boos from the audience. Madison gives Tyler one last look before walking up the steps and getting into the ring to stand behind her Champion. Malu, again, is standing on stage with the biggest of grins.
Malu: Well damn. Here I thought make a wish had a cut off date. What is this after school special crap, Black? Where's that savage that survived me at Summercide at, eh? Or do you only feel like a man when you're pretending to be someone else?
As Tyler lifted his mic to speak, Malu immediately points to him.
Malu: Grown folks is talkin, boy. If you couldn't beat him you damn sure don't want none of me.
Dennis looks to Tyler and apologizes before asking for the mic back.
Malu: Smart choice. Where was I? Oh yea, learning yo ass something. When I think about my damn near hall of fame career, season eleven stands out the most. It's a season of transitional champions and punks that are scared of success.
Malu: Hell, it ain't even Just Turmoil. Look at Riot. Too many names to list. Your boy Drago lost both belts in the same week. Next week, it's your turn. That handicap match, you losing that Television Title. And next Sunday, the world. You ‘will’ be broken, son.
Dennis: What do you want from me, Malu? I already granted you the rematch. So you come out here and disrespect a new guy after he fought his heart out? For what? Guys like you should be making all of Turmoil better. I don't need you to make a man out of me. I went toe to toe with you at Summercide.
Malu: You're close. But you ain't there. Not yet. You need to experience loss. Shame. Heart break. I'm not talking some Riot or Turmoil loss here and there. Sun shines on a dog’s ass every once in awhile. No one in that Soft ass Turmoil locker room can hang with us day in and day out. You ‘need’ to win this match. I know it. You it. If you don't, you're no better than this Turmoil Five that your mutt keeps tapping about.
Malu: Being in the game as long as I have, I know that only 10 matches a year matter. When these lights is the brightest, son. Pay per view.
Malu: I'm gonna break you down next Sunday. And you'll either fold like a cheap suit. Or be built back up. I might even make her into something special too.
Dennis: Win or lose, my knee is going to cave your skull in!
Dennis walked toward the ropes, only to have Madison quickly step between him and the ropes. Malu points at the ring, grinning.
Malu: There! There's that fire. It's her. You just can't help yourself. You kicked the hell out of that rook, all because he called her pretty ass ugly. How weak are you, son?
Dennis glares at the stage, squeezing the mic as hard as he could. Malu paces back and forth on the stage.
Malu: And that's why i'm out here. To use your weakness against you. So let's up the stakes. I want you at your most aggressive. I want you to experience loss, true loss. I want to see your anger. Your desperation, and your fear with every hit I put on you next Sunday night. I want war. We are going to finish this season knowing if Dennis Black is the man on Turmoil heading into next season...or if people been right about you from day one. You ain't Hayes, punk ass Jackson, Jimmy Henry, B-17, hell...you ain't even Tank!
Dennis: Anything! No rematch clause? First blood? Loser leaves Turmoil? Whatever! I'm Not scared of you. Anything!
Malu stops and shakes his head before pointing at the ring again.
Malu: If I beat you, I'm taking that title and she leaves September to Remember with ME! And you don't see or hear from her again until the Anniversary show. You'll get her back, kid. Don't worry. She won't be the same. She’ll have a skwad tattoo where I choose...and if she's behaved, It'll be like putting a convertible in the Grand Canyon when you get her back.
The audience of Terminal Five were just as silent as the three individuals standing in the ring. Dennis's arms fell to his side. He looks to Madison and mouths something, but the mic couldn't pick up what was said. He repeatedly shook is head when she spoke. He slowly lifted the mic and looked to the stage once more.
Dennis: ...I can't. I won’t...
Malu: Didn't think so, kid. You don't have the heart to go to war with me, with everything on the line. So just leave that Turmoil World Title in the ring and go back to jumping off of basketball hoops in high school gyms. We don't even have to fight next Sunday. You're a gymnast. Not a fighter. Not a man! Walking around while carrying a broad’s purse will do that.
Defeated and demoralized, Dennis drops the mic in the ring. He closes his eyes as he reaches back to remove the World Title from around his waist. The audience started to show their disapproval. When the title dangled from Dennis’s fingertips, Madison quickly snatches the mic from the mat and yells to Malu saying ‘they’ accept. The audience exploded, but Dennis’s looks to her with a horrified look on his face. The show comes comes to a close with Malu pretending to slit his own throat with his thumb, letting the trio know a huge mistake was just made...
The camera pans to the announce team.
