OCWFED.com Presents Riot

The crowd boos the roof off of the building as BUFFNESS paces back and forth at ring side, shaking his head, ignoring the fans in the close vicinity.

He drops the stairs at his side, sitting on them, deep in his own head. A barely conscious Minio leans his head up weakly. With his left hand, he checks his forehead, which confirms his suspicions, he’s been busted wide open by the shot from the stairs.

His right hand slowly reaches behind his head, returning in front of his face with a similar message. The back of his head is busted open, resulting from impact it took when his head bounced off the stairs after BUFFNESS had slammed him down.

A look of panic flashes across the weary eyes of Minio, he fights through the cobwebs, rolling over onto his belly to crawl away.

He is not hearing the boos, he is not hearing the sound of his music playing, he only hears the echoing ring of the stairs and his skull. BUFFNESS cocks his head to the side, watching Minio drag dead weight toward the bottom set of stairs, trying to pull himself to safety, or whatever sense of safety Minio had fooled himself into believing.

BUFFNESS stands, dragging the stairs behind him as he walks toward his downed opponent.

He kicks Minio back over onto his back, now laying across the bottom set of stairs. A ref is leaning through the ropes, screaming at more than BUFFNESS, but Sean McGee, the man within the legend, to stop the attack.

Sean McGee hears none of this, he’s a million miles away right now. BUFFNESS stands on the bottom steps beside Minio, towering above the downed man.

A grin walks onto his lips. Minio begins to shake his head, pleading quietly, calmly, only out of a lack of energy.

Bobby Minio: Don’t, Sean. Don’t do this. Don’t you do this Sean.

BUFFNESS stares down into Minio’s face as he lifts the stairs over his head, gripping them with both hands now, a hammer, about to meet anvil, with little of importance between the two.

He’s committed now, locked in to this moment. Both men are so locked in that they don’t hear the roar of the crowd in reaction to the cavalry appearing. They’re completely unaware that Matsuda and Paul Pugh are running down behind the North American champion (in spirit), Mugen.

They’re caught completely off guard as Mugen shoves BUFFNESS by the mid section, forcing the man to drop the stairs away from them all, and stumble off of the lower set and away from Minio.

The outside world comes rushing in. BUFFNESS hears it all now. He hears the screams of the referee who tries, and fails, to maintain some control over the situation.
He hears the hateful boo from the crowd who feel betrayed by a man they had before thought as hero, a man who once lived up to the Superman logo on his gear.

He hears the sound of Minio’s music playing, indicating that he had lost the match by disqualification, a decision that he had made the second Minio kicked out of the Superman Punch on two.

He hears Mugen screaming in his face. He hears Pugh checking on Minio, and he can see as Matsuda stands, ready to fight, to defend a comrade in arms, while seeming somewhat indifferent to his comrade’s condition… and he laughs. BUFFNESS laughs right in Mugen’s face. He leans around, laughing at C4, laughing at the shattered opponent he had broken minutes earlier.

He pushes past Mugen and walks up the ramp, leaning toward the fans who scream for justice, who point and spit in his direction, and he laughs at them too. All because he knows, there is not a single man woman or child within throwing distance that can hold a candle to BUFFNESS.

He walks toward the backstage area, still laughing, as Pugh and Mugen attempt to get Minio up on his feet.
