The camera switches to show Solomon Caine still in his ring gear, standing around and smoking a cigarette in an outdoor break area. Dilapidated lawn chairs surround an aged cardboard box.
On the ground, a mix of gravel and miscellaneous trash forms a sort of cover. A fresh "No Smoking" sign on the wall with a no-symbol through a cigarette stands in stark contrast to the rest of the scene.
Caine takes a big drag of the cigarette and then attempts to sit in one of lawn chairs, which collapses immediately under his weight. He stays sitting on the ground with a frustrated face, but the face gradually disappears into a state of solemn acceptance after a few moments. He takes another big drag of the cigarette.
Solomon Caine: 0-4... 0-4.
Caine grabs a metal rod with his left hand, detached from the former lawn chair, and whips it at the wall. He takes another big drag of the cigarette.
Solomon Caine: 0-4 in my last 4 matches. Couldn't beat Wrex. Couldn't beat Jehst. Couldn't beat Jackman. Couldn't beat f'in Klein... What the hell.
Caine takes a small drag on the cigarette.
Solomon Caine: I'm better than this man, I have to be. I have to be. I...
Caine pauses. The cigarette has unconsciously fallen out of his right hand and onto the ground.
Solomon Caine: Blacksmith... I... I can't. I can't do it...
Caine pauses again and takes a deep breath, seemingly to stop himself from freaking out.
Solomon Caine: I need to get a hold of this before... before it's too late.
Caine slowly gets up off the ground, forgetting the cigarette entirely. He stumbles back into the arena as the camera fades to black.
Heather’s theme “Dead Man’s Opera” starts to play as we fade from black to see Heather lurking the halls of OCW Riot.
Highlights of some of her past matches with some of the biggest names on Riot flicker on the screen….
Sentai Hare, Kat, Betty Ford and Valkyrie.
We return to Heather dragging her arm along the wall as her fingernails scratch along the concrete.
Heather: I can feel the residual energy of all the pain, all the suffering from all the carnage I left in this arena over the years.
Heather: Last week I said I wanted to fight.
A fight that will help sharpen my claws against Flojo at Consequences. What better way to do that than with the former OCW Women’s Champion Dragana.
Heather: Dragana knows how to be a strong woman. She knows her place in this business. She’s knows where she is going and knows where she has been.
Heather: You finally picked up the ball to play with Empress and not with me...
Heather’s hideous laughter flicks the lights on and off.
Heather: ...it makes me a bit jealous Flo. This reminds me of last years Summercide when I just wanted to play with Valkyrie.
Heather: This summer I’m in no mood to play games anymore. You want to call me a b(beep)ch that’s fine. You want to call me a thot, that’s fine. All that is child's play.
Heather: Tonight witness the two baddest b(beep)hes in the business.
Heather: When the match is over we’ll see….
Heather: I’m coming for you….
Heather turns her head to look over her shoulder. The cameraman stops following her as she turns around very slowly.
Cameraman: Oh, no no no no! Heather, NO!
Heather starts to walk towards the cameraman. You can tell he’s trying to back away from her but can’t. Her paces moves towards him quicker than he can move backwards.
She lets out a warcry then runs towards him. She lunges at the cameraman causing him to drop the camera to the ground.
The picture becomes fuzzy and you can only see down the dark hallway. He lets out a loud ungodly scream before the scene and her theme fades.
Odon Klein stands before us in darkness, cradling his bat firmly and looking intently at the fresh dent from last week's post match festivities. His nostrils flare, a sense of anger arises as his breathing becomes more rapid.
Klein: What befell upon Mr. El Parca last week on Riot... well he was simply a casualty of war. This isn't about El Parca, it's about this so-called "deliverance" that Mr. Grimm speaks of. I have one question for Mr. Grimm...
Odon, breathing heavily at this point. slowly takes his focus off the bat and looks into the camera intensely.
Klein: Why would we take deliverance from a man who hides his face? When I saw Mr. El Parca, I saw what I was going to do to you, Mr. Grimm! So LEO! While everyone here is a target...
Odon gradually calms.
Eventually, he breathes a deep audible sigh of relief, and looks back at the bat with a look of satisfaction.
Klein: I make it my mission to show your true face to all of OCW!
Klein casually walks off dangling his bat but flicking it a bit as he disappears into the darkness.
TELOS vs TRE GOLDEN
Fading in backstage is the always lovely Stacy Clark, standing in front of the camera with a wide smile on her face.
Stacy: Welcome fans of OCW! Welcome fans of OCW RIOT and welcome fans across the world…. To the Clark Effect!
The camera pans around the Clark Effect set. The backstage area is set up perfectly. A large banner hangs down behind Stacy as she continues smiling, looking around, following the cameras focus.
Stacy: My guests this evening… Once again… The OCW Undisputed World Tag Team Champions, C.Q.C. The Cohle Quartz Coalition. Quartz and Rust Cohle!
Inness Quartz and Rust Cohle walk into frame confidently. As both enter from the left, Quartz wraps around to Stacy’s right and Cohle rests on the left. They surround Clark and the aura of CQC surround the entire set.
Stacy: Consequence. This will be your seventh title defense since winning the championships back in August of 2018 at Summercide. Tell me how you feel coming into what is sure to be another hugely physical battle against the Inception.
Rust Cohle hesitates, he is looking more serious than usual lately. He peers over to Quartz, who keeps his head down, almost as if he’s hiding bad news. Rust steps forward and responds to Stacy Clark.
Rust: Well, this has been one of the more unpredictable years… not just in my wrestling career, but in my entire life.
Rust: I think I speak for Quartz and myself when I say that these championships mean more to us than you could possibly imagine.
Rust Cohle looks down across his waist to his tag championship. He unbuckles it and drapes it across his shoulder. His face doesn’t flinch. It stays as serious as the day he arrived.
Rust: C.Q.C. began as a cooperative attempt to get ahead of the rest of the competition. We started as individuals looking to use one another to move forward… We have evolved to what C.Q.C. is today.
Rust again looks over to Quartz, who has not moved, looking down at his tag title.
Rust: Stacy, we went into Certified Greatness expecting an easy victory and ultimately, that’s what led to our defeat that night. Our only title defeat.
Rust: One month later, the weeds cleared and Quartz showed me the light. We defeated the overly aggressive Inception and regained out titles.
Rust: Today? I feel… Conflicted.
The crowd calms down, surprised at this response from Rust Cohle.
Stacy: You say you’re conflicted. Is this feeling mutual?
Stacy swings the microphone over to Quartz, still frozen looking down to his championship.
Quartz: ...Yes.
Quartz: Ms. Clark, this entire year… We have held out place, watching star after star supercede us. Watching people overcome the odds and jump ahead.
Quartz: Despite the success of C.Q.C…. Something is missing.
Quartz looks up and over to Rust Cohle, who has lost his usual smile and is staring off to the left.
Quartz: Rust Cohle has been robbed of his chance to become OCW World Heavyweight Champion.
Rust snaps his head over to Quartz, surprised at his answer. He double takes, looking down to the tag title and over to Quartz once more.
Stacy: The world title?!
Quartz: That’s right, Stacy.
Quartz: …Both of us are infinitely grateful for the opportunities we’ve been given in the tag team division. We are thankful and could not be more proud to represent OCW as the #1 tag team.
Quartz puts his head back down, looking at his tag title, shelling up before Stacy can get any more out of him. She frantically snaps back to Rust Cohle, who is still looking dumbfounded in Quartz general direction.
Stacy: Rust Cohle?! One year ago today… You were telling me how OCW mistreated you. You were telling me how Mr. Sensation disrespected your position. Now with this statement from your tag team partner…
Rust: Stacey, it's been a while now since people wanted to see Quartz climb the top of the mountain, and I want my brother to succeed more than anything.. This match against Tyson and KD… This is the rubber match. Quartz and I…
Rust: You know? Most people assume if we lose at Consequence… That we’re going to just come back fighting at Summercide.
Rust: Well… We’ve had a meaningful discussion about this. We have no real qualms with the Inception. They are not bad guys. Quartzy and I have agreed…
Rust: Win or lose at Consequence… This rivalry is over.
The crowd can’t decide whether to pop or gasp at the sudden decision.
Rust: We will not be facing the Inception again after this match at Consequence. If that means we lose our titles and spli--... Have to wait to get them back… So be it. This match means something. This match is the end-all be-all.
Rust: Tyson put me down last year at Wrestlution. I decided I needed to keep fighting. I needed to be strong and fight back. With Quartz’ help? I’ve done that. I’ve accomplished my goals, win or lose.
Stacy: This… This could be huge news for not only the tag division, but for OCW entirely! Quartz?
Quartz: ...He’s right. This match will decide our fates. We cannot continue to bounce back and forth. One more match to decide the true kings of the tag team division. I trust Rust Cohle more than anyone… but even if we lose this match… I will hug my best friend and we will move forward. But don't mistake it, we will not go down without a fight.
Stacy, seemingly shocked, can’t decide who to turn to. She looks back and forth to Quartz and Cohle. Both of them stoneface her and she looks back at the camera
Stacy: Wow!... You heard it here first… One way or another, Inception vs CQC is over after this. Will CQC continue their reign of dominance? Will Inception finally put an end to one of the greatest tag teams in OCW history? There is a lot on the line at OCW Consequence! Thank you to my--
As Stacy tries to turn to Quartz and Cohle, they silently walk off the set, atypical of their more recent upbeat behavior.
Stacy:... Thank you for joining us for the Clark Effect.
The X-Tron begins to play a video
The
camera cuts and the frame is black. Then we are back in a familiar room.
From the light of the moon, a person can be seen. It is Officer Roberts. The man who told the world last week what Billy Saturn did.
Next to him is another official. He seems to be of very high rank. He is Admiral Ethan, of the Canadian Secret Service.
Then we hear them say something.
Officer Roberts: This just does not line up. We need to take this into account.
Admiral Ethan: What are you suggesting, Officer?
After that the camera cuts and we will have to wait and see if anything changes.
