Backstage, ‘The New Deal’ Antonio Everrett can be seen winding through corridors with purpose as he looks for his manager and friend Kareem Franklin. He opens a door at the end of a hallway.
Antonio: Any of you seen Kareem? … No? Shit.
He quickly slams the door and makes his way back the way he came, before he’s interrupted by a familiar figure.
Antonio: Kareem?
Kareem: Yep, you found me. Gah damn my ribs hurt!
Antonio: Shit, I’m sorry bruv. I should’ve known. What even happened bro?
Kareem: Maaan, I have no idea! One minute I’m on my way to catering, next minute a bunch of masked men come rush me from around the corner. Then Cobra comes out and hands ‘em all a crisp 100 dollars each! Man, if I knew it was that cheap to jump a guy I could’ve solved a whole load of problems already!
Antonio: I’m just glad you’re okay, bruv. You been to medical yet?
Kareem: Ahh I don’t need no damn medical assistance, my guy! We knew what we were getting into calling out the champion like that. He ain’t the same guy you used to know.
Antonio: Yeah, I can see that now. You don’t think there’s any chance he comes back?
Kareem: Listen, man. Some people, they just don’t want to be fixed. And why would he? He got the money, the fame, the belt! Everything he could possibly want.
Antonio: Yeah I suppose that’s true. So what do you suggest we do?
Kareem: I think you gotta ask yourself how far you’re willing to go to get that first OCW Title. ‘Cause if we keep going down this road, who knows what could be in store for us. We just gotta be ready!
Antonio pauses for a moment.
Antonio: We?
Kareem: Yeah, we! You know me - whatever you wanna do I’m with you 100%!
Antonio: But what if we can’t get it done?
Kareem: Then at least go out there and give it everything you’ve got. And if that ain’t enough, well then that’s too frickin’ bad!
Antonio: .. I can’t let him get away with this.
Kareem: Then we’ll make him pay for it!
Kareem smirks and holds out his hand for a fist bump, and Tony obliges as they walk down the hallway together.
Antonio: … And we’re getting your old ass checked out before we leave here.
