A camera feed fades in and an interviewer is backstage with Danny Watts about to ask questions.
Interviewer: Hello everyone I am here backstage with OCW's newest rookie, Danny Watts.
The Interviewer turns to Danny to start asking him questions.
Interviewer: Mr. Watts...
Danny Watts: Please, Mr. Watts was my father, call me Danny.
Interviewer: Sorry, Danny, How does it feel to be in OCW?
Danny Watts: Well, of course it feels great, I wouldn't be here if I didn't want to be here after all.
Interviewer: What do you plan to accomplish he...
Danny Watts: Let me stop you right there. I'm just a rookie, I haven't even debuted yet. As for my intentions, for now. To just earn my respect using this.
Watts points to his dad's metallic elbow pad.
Danny Watts: I will earn the wrestler's respect here. That is my goal as of now. Thank you.
Watts walks back into the locker room and the interviewer ends the segment. The screen fades to the next segment.
*****
We return from commercial break to find B17 flexing for the crowd.
Crowd: Ohhhh. Awww.
B17: As our esteemed GM has clear, Code Jackman and B17 are not to make any physical contact with each other. This is a problem, as I would find no greater satisfaction than to punch him repeatedly in the face.
B17: But I respect Malu’s decision, he respects what I want as well. So tonight, I will pick Code’s opponent *and he will pick mine.
B17: So as I have limited---
Code: WOAH, WOAH. B17! Stop. I HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW YOU!
Code appears from the back, but he isn’t alone. Dragging behind him is a timid looking pitbull.
Code: Come on you mutt! I’VE GOT YOUR DOG!
Bingo looks on worried as Code drags the poor dog into the ring.
Code: Before you make any choice know this. Malu has given me the greatest gift I could hope for. You. Can’t. Touch. Me. No matter what I do. Can’t touch me. I can hurt anyone I want. Can’t touch me. You’re at my mercy!
Code gives a rough tug on the the leash then digs into his pocket and pulls out a small black controller.
Code: Know what this is?
Bingo’s eyes go wide and he nods slowly.
Code: I could have your dog squealing in pain, and You. Can’t. Touch. Me!
B17: Bu--
Code: I’m not finished yet!
B17 puts up both hands and back away.
Code: At first I considered having Drago end you. I figured Wrex would be happy to crush your skull. Oh the options were so plentiful. But...you have so many friends to pick from. So many people you care about. But the one that would hurt the most...oh yes. Tonight you will face your best friend, Austin Lee!
Code: How does that feel, Bingo? How does it feel knowing I’m in control!
Code laughs uncontrollably at the dog.
B17: Code. You're making a horrible mistake.
Code: No! You've made the mistakes! You failed to protect your friends! You've failed too keep what you love safe!
B17: Ok, first off. Austin Lee and I will fight each other with no remorse and afterwards tonight we will go out to The Roadhouse where he will order 6 pints of Guinness and I will have one Banana Daiquiri.
B17 pauses while Code smirks.
B17: We’ve fought before. We will fight again so don’t think your ass will have any effect on our relationship. Second, you need to release the dog.
Code: Don’t get any closer! I will press this button!
B17: Code, this is a matter of life or death, let the dog go!
Code: This is no longer your dog! This is my dog!
B17: Code...that’s not my dog…
Code: Huh?
B17: That’s Ashley Blaine’s dog…
Crowd: OHHHHHHHHH
Code stands completely still, in shock.
B17: Here, let me take that leash from you. I think it’s best I return Riley unharmed.
Code drops the leash.
B17: Needless to say, I think my choice is made for me...Goodluck tonight, Code. ******
ZOE COHLE vs EMPRESS
The scene opens in the brightly lit home office of Justin Jehst. He sits in his wheelchair behind a large oak desk. As he reads a script in one hand he taps a pen against his cheek with the other, deep in concentration.
Into frame walks Elsa, dressed in a blue jumpsuit with a gold belt around her waist to match her bangles and rings. She carries with her a newspaper and a bouquet of interesting looking flowers.
Jehst, without looking up, speaks as she gets closer.
Jehst: Those for me?
Elsa: Terra sent to me. She is sweet lady. But I came to give you this.
She places the paper on the desk in front of Jehst.
Elsa: This not good, Justin; read this.
He calmly places the script down and picks up the paper. Squinting, he reads the headline, looking puzzled, then continues to skim the article.
Elsa: They accusing you to have relation with Capo girlfriend.
Jehst: Well that’s ludicrous! I’ve only ever been in the same room with her a few times and trust me; I wasn’t her type. This is just the result of Capo’s mind games. He’s putting this false narrative into the public sphere and everyone’s eating it up.
Elsa: And it ruining your chance to get movie deals! I have so many reject today from studios because of story! We needing to stop this, Justin, before this lies get too far.
Justin drops the paper and the pen onto the desk before sighing running both hands through his shoulder length hair.
Jehst: Call all the publicists you know and get my side of the story out there, as well as getting it to the public through your connections. And book me in for a public speech next week on RIOT; I need to address this with the people.
He wheels himself backwards, then around the desk and next to Elsa. She looks down as he continues speaking.
Jehst: I don’t know what his end game is here, but this is a side of him I have never seen.
Elsa takes Jehst’s hand.
Elsa: I hope is over soon. I just want life to being normal again.
Jehst puts his other hand on top of Elsa’s. He looks her in the eyes intently.
Jehst: I just want my friend back.
He lets go and wheels himself off screen as he leaves Elsa in the office looking saddened. And with that, the scene fades out.
