ELIMINATION CHAMBER
CUTLASS vs. DEADZONE vs. SANCTUM
The scene opens to the backdrop of dust and smoke, a rundown looking bar in the heart of New York City. The place looks dead, the bartender sits watching the old tv and the two old regulars are arguing over the pool table.
The regular depressing flow is interrupted by the sound of the door opening, as Christian Garcia walks into the bar.
Garcia: Where.
The bartender doesn’t say a word, simply jerking his head in the direction of the furthest back booth.
Garcia: Thanks.
Garcia walks along, following the bar as it leads further into the old decrepit building, the two patrons stop to watch the new arrival as he makes his way.
He finally arrives at the last booth, waiting there is a half empty bottle of whiskey, two glasses.. and the North American champion.
Ross: Took your time Garcia. Figured I’d skip all the public signing crap and get it over with quick. Earned enough TV time off my back already.
Garcia: Surprised you even invited me. Good thing you’ve got witnesses around. Would be a shame if you never made it to Turmoil, you know?
Ross: Those two? They can’t remember if they put their shoes on after leaving the house, never mind witnesses. I Invited you because this needs to be signed.
Garcia: At least we agree on that much, Al.
Ross: Knock yourself out, hurry up and sign your death warrants so I can go home.
He takes another drink of his whiskey while Garcia reaches over for the pen.
Garcia signs the paper, almost seeming bored. He doesn’t look away from Ross.
Garcia: Is it really worth this much to you?
Ross: You know me Garcia, I’m goal oriented. World titles, the main event of Lution, North American title. Once I know what I want, I won’t stop till I have it.. and now, ending your career is what I want. Not a drinker?
Garcia: Not anymore. I just wanna ask you one more question, Ross. Indulge me.
He hands Ross the pen.
Garcia: When we get in that ring, I’m going to end you. I’m not going in there to take your title. I’m going in there to mutilate you. The only reason I’m going to let you live is because there are going to be thousands of witnesses to make sure I couldn’t get away with kneeing you in the skull until you stopped moving. I’m not just ending your career, Ross- I’m changing your life as you know it.
Garcia: No amount of weapons or interference from DDE is gonna protect you from me, man. So let me ask you this one last question, as Felix Garcia to Alastair Ross. One more time.
He leans over the table.
Garcia: Is this the mountain you want to die on?
Alastair looks away from Garcia and down to the signed contract before writing down his own name.
Ross: We’ve both gone too far for anything else now, I hope you’ve made peace with whoever or whatever you believe in, because from here on.. everything in your life is going to be different. I promise you that.
