The electric guitar cracks open the sub woofers of this packed arena. A wave of excitement nearly breaks the sound barriers and splashes down onto The Lightheavyweight Champion H2O as he makes his way out onto the stage.
With his title at hand, he pats it towards the camera with a smile. He steps back from the camera and returns the love back to the fans with several hand claps with the kids as he makes his way down the ramp.
He is unlike his usual self with an energetic presence. He rolls underneath the ropes and makes his way to the turnbuckle. He raises the prestigious title, points his thumbs to it and shouts to the crowd...
H2O: LIGHT-HEAVYWEIGHT-CHAMPION!!!
H2O then asks for a mic and one is tossed. He catches it with one hand and then hopes down as the music decrescendos and he begins his legacy.
H2O: Oh this is fun!
Crowd pops.
H2O: Before H2O continues his legacy tonight against an ol’ annoying bud of mine, Ligermask.
H2O: He would like to say as a proud sponsor of The New Country, H2O just want you to know that there’s no time in this division to pop bottles and celebrate.
H2O: We just cut to the chase and get down to business. H2O would like to speak with someone. Someone who has a bit of edginess to him. Like yours truly.
H2O: A person who The Aerial Assassin encountered several times already in the past and put on incredible shows with.
His tone changes from Hehpi Harvey to much more serious demeanor.
H2O: A person who dared to wipe his salty watered sweat across the pure and freshness of This Lightheavyweight Champion body must have something against him.
H2O: So whoever you are today. Cut-Throat, Crossbones, Blackbeard, WHATEVER! Come on out so we can talk face to face. Man to man cause this is how we do it in The New Ambition Era.
The lights dim in the arena as Blackbeard makes his way out onto the ramp, led by lantern light, he stops at the top of the ramp and blows out the lantern as the arena lights slowly come back on.
H2O: So last week you bumped into me in the back and said something about beeeeing carefulllll, pirates and gold.
H2O: Can you repeat what you said please? I don’t quite understand Pirate.
Blackbeard: Make sure ye….
H2O puts up his finger telling Blackbeard and the audience to hold on. He puts in some sort of earbud and proceeds on.
H2O: This new earbud called The BabelFish translates foreign languages. You can proceed with what you were trying to tell Harvey..
Blackbeard: First off Waterboy, I applaud ye for calling me out here, but I’l ladmit it leaves me perplexed.
As Blackbeard continues on H2O has a look of confusion on his face. He taps his earbud multiple times. The device doesn’t seem to work. His look turns to frustration.
H2O: Not even this stupid thing can translate a thing you say! Must be made by Apple! What are you? Are you from this planet?
H2O: Are you trapped in this timeline with Octavius and Ryu? Did you escape from 1772 when you sailed the ocean blue? Who in the world are you!?
The crowd laughs but H2O is clearly not joking. He takes out his earbud and slams it into the canvas shattering it into a million pieces.
Blackbeard: Before we go any further, let me just say the New Country, or New Ambition, or whatever ye have tagged yerself with, is the dumbest name I’ve ever heard….
Blackbeard:
I am from the old world, the golden age, I am the pirate of pirates, the most feared of the feared….
Blackbeard:
I am Blackbeard! And for some reason, Waterboy, ye seem to be dying to get something off yer chest.
H2O: Haha, very funny. So funny H2O forgot to laugh. Listen, you want to hear something that’s really funny? You being from the old world is the reason why I called you out here.
H2O steps closer to the ropes as he drapes the title over his shoulder. He takes a moment and looks behind Blackbeard as if he was looking for something.
H2O: All those women you came out with at Certified Greatness isn’t here with you tonight. That means you’re focused.
H2O: A woman left Harvey and looked what he became (shrugs).
Blackbeard: Is there a point to this yarn?
H2O: What The Lightheavyweight Champ is telling you is that you need to focus on something that is much more meaningful besides chasing them.
H2O: You need to focus on something that this fed, this show and this division needs. You need to focus on….
H2O stops talking and just raises his beautiful title in the air. The excitement fills the arena as the crowd begins to understand his notion. Blackbeard rubs his beard and smiles.
Blackbeard: Careful son, ye only just discovered that gold, why ye be in such a hurry to lose it? A fool and his gold are soon parted…..
H2O: Then it’s set. Come be the dashing and fearless pirate that you say you are and come get this gold. H2O will see you at Road To Glory!
H2O tosses the mic over his shoulder to ringside. He shakes his head up and down in great anticipation of a fight from his next ambitious challenger, Blackbeard.
He stands in the ring, gaze locked on Blackbeard as his music fills the arena. Words are spoken between the two that are inaudible above the arena noise
The scene fades.
The camera pans to the announce team.
This is tense!
Who you telling!
Rust Cohle & Jookie Marley
vs
Bad Company*
The scene opens inside a worn down MMA gym in Las Vegas, NV. Audible sounds of men training can be heard as the camera pans from right to left. Several men are training jui jitsu on nearby mats.
Two fighters are sparring in a small octagon with an older trainer coaching them from outside the ring. One large muscular man is repeatedly kicking a heavy bag in the corner.
THUD… THUD… THUD. Music and laughter can be heard coming from a back office as the camera approaches the room.
VOICE: FOUL?!? Give me a fluffing break…
The camera approaches the smoke-filled room to see a man and 2 women watching a college basketball game on a big screen TV.
The room reeks of marijuana as the man ashes his blunt into an ashtray on the nearby coffee table.
A large trophy case is displayed in the back corner with several trophies showcased in the middle, highlighted with 2 title belts on top of the mantle.
Bright red & black hair stand out above the man’s broad shoulders as he sits on the edge of a black leather couch, locked in on the basketball game.
MAN: How much are these refs getting paid? Come on Stetson.. one more possession. D UP!!!
The game is between St. Joe’s and Stetson, 2 low level college basketball teams. St. Joe’s has the ball with 15 seconds left, down by 2.
They swing the ball around to the corner, catching Stetson’s defense out of position for an open 3.
The shot takes a long bounce off of the rim.. a Stetson player gets the rebound with 3 seconds left and kicks it out to an open player for a 3 point shot at the buzzer.
The shot goes in at the buzzer!! The man kicks the table as it flips forward, sending ash flying everywhere.
MAN: God DAMNIT!!! I have the worst fluffing luck.. I swear. Another thousand dollars down the fluffing drain!!
The 2 women cower down in fear on each side of the leather couch as the man notices the camera man standing in the doorway.
MAN: Who the fluff are you? And who told you that you could bring a camera into my gym??
Camera Man: Mr. Blayze.. we spoke yesterday on the phone. I am from the OCW, I asked if it would be okay to meet with you for an interview about your recent signing to the OCW. You said to come by around…
Bryson Blayze: The OC what??
Camera Man: The OCW, sir. You know… the #1 brand in sports e-entertainment in the world?
Bryson Blayze: Right.. who am I fighting again? You guys don’t drug test, right?
Camera Man: Well.. all we have now is a contract for you to compete. You haven’t been assigned an opponent yet, but I’m sure there are a handful of wrestlers who can’t wait to get a shot at an MMA superstar like yourself.
Bryson Blayze: Another wrestler huh? You would have thought I’ve run through them all by now.. When are these guys going to learn to expand their game? So how many rounds.. 3? 5?
Camera Man: Uh, Mr. Blayze.. you do know that there are no rounds in the OCW, right?
Bryson Blayze: Oh so it’s some old school Japanese type MMA dookieshoe, huh? I’m wit it!!
Camera Man: No, sir.. not MMA at all actually. The OCW is a professional wrestling organization.
Bryson Blayze: PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING??!!?? You mean the guys who roll around in spandex on weeknights? Oh hell no… I’m Primetime baby!! Mr. PPV… The Human Highlight Reel… Bryson FKN Blayze… I knock motherfluffers OUT!!!
**Camera Man remains silent in obvious annoyance**
Bryson Blayze: Isn’t that dookieshoe fake anyway???
Camera Man: Well considering you have been suspended from every major MMA organization in the United States for continuous marijuana abuse, one would think that you would be grateful for an opportunity like this.
Camera Man: Besides, the OCW is known for having some of the best athletes in the world. I’m sure guys like Kassidy Hayes and H20 wouldn’t mind showing you how FAKE it all really is…
Bryson Blayze: H20?? Da fuq???
Camera Man: Look Mr. Blayze.. I’m just here to get an official comment from you on your recent OCW signing. But it seems as if maybe you were too HIGH to even remember signing with us.. so I’ll just be on my way.
The camera man starts to turn towards the exit. Bryson Blayze hops out of his seat and jumps in front of the man before he has a chance to leave the room.
Bryson Blayze: Whoa whoa whoa… you guys pay right? And you don’t drug test?
Camera Man: Right…....not for Marijuana but you didn't hear that from me!
Bryson Blayze: Sounds like the easiest payday of my career. Look… you just tell your boss or whoever you need to talk to… You line em up, and I’ll drop em.
Bryson Blayze: I’ve never lost a fight in my life.. I’ll be damned if I’m going to lose to some spandex wearing clown named Water.
Bryson Blayze: And that goes for whoever else wants a shot.. You come at the King, you best not miss!!! You make sure they get this message loud and clear!!
Camera Man: I think they just did…
Bryson Blayze: Good.. now get the fluff out of my gym!!!
Bryson Blayze grabs the camera by the lens and shoves the camera man to the ground, slamming the office door behind him. The camera man mumbles obscenities to himself as the screen fades to black.
