As Cort Marshall slides out of the ring and makes his way to the back, AC Cobra slowly gets to his feet inside the ring. The crowd still cheering him on relentlessly, he looks out and mouths ‘I’m sorry’ to the OCW faithful. They respond with more ‘One More Match’ chants.
As Cobra begins to get out of the ring, ‘Been the Man’ by Tinie Tempah begins to play and Light Heavyweight champion Antonio Everrett makes his way down to the ring.
He is dressed casually, but differently to how he usually dresses: donning an all-black Adidas tracksuit, with signature slides to match.
His Championship draped over his shoulder, he signals Cobra to get back in the ring and grabs a microphone from a nearby stagehand.
Everrett gets into the ring and the two stare off for a moment. Cobra still heavily breathing from his match, Antonio slowly lifts the microphone to his mouth and addresses the fan favourite.
Antonio: Well done Cobra, you finally got my attention! This little ‘campaign’ is really starting to get out of hand, isn’t it?
Antonio:
The reality is that I should really be at home right now, enjoying my week off with my family, but YOU have forced me to be here to address you right now.
Antonio: Whatever you were planning on doing you’ve succeeded, kind of. You’ve managed to stay relevant for more than a month now, how great!
Antonio: Problem is, you still haven’t shown me, or anybody in the back for that matter, why you deserve a rematch. Look at you, y-
AC Cobra snatches the microphone out of Antonio’s hand and the crowd pops huge. Antonio’s face turns from slightly joking to completely stoic. AC wags his finger in Antonio’s face and begins to speak.
Cobra: Open your eyes, if you know what’s best for OCW you will give me this rematch and I WILL become the NEW OCW Light… Heavyweight… Champion!
Antonio snatches the microphone back out of AC’s hand.
Antonio: Here it comes, I’ve heard it all before mate. I’m not quite sure what has lead you to believe this but just because you SAY you’re gonna become the ‘NeW LiGhT hEaVyWeIgHt ChAmPiOn’, doesn’t actually mean you stand a chance at all.
Antonio:
And at Wrestlelution I proved exactly why yo-
AC Cobra slaps the microphone away and comes face-to-face with the champion. The crowd has now erupted into a medley of ‘ONE MORE MATCH’ chants.
Antonio shakes his head and AC begins to talk to Antonio, but his words are drowned out by the crowd.
Antonio grins and takes a step back, he goes to leave the ring but at the last moment he attempts to hit AC with the title! Cobra nimbly ducks out of the way and nails Antonio with a sweet Enziguri to the jaw!
Antonio drops the title as he hits the ground. He begins to crawl to get his title and roll out of the ring but as he gets his hand over the front plate, AC defiantly stamps on Everrett’s hand and stares down at the champ.
Antonio’s hand is now sandwiched between the title and Cobra’s boot.
AC Cobra smiles at Antonio, and bends down and picks up the title. The crowd is now whipped up into a frenzy. He stares at it in his grasp for a moment. He looks up to them and lifts it in the air to an absolutely crazy response.
Crowd: ONE MORE MATCH! ONE MORE MATCH! ONE MORE MATCH!
Antonio has rolled out of the ring and is shouting at Cobra, who is now stood on the top turnbuckle staring at him, lifting the title high in the air. AC drops the title to the outside of the ring and Everrett quickly scrambles to get it.
The Light Heavyweight Champion backs up the ramp, eyes still locked with AC Cobra, who’s music is now playing as the scene fades out.
The scene opens with Cort Marshall making his way through the backstage area, victorious but beaten and dragging his future investment briefcase along. He seems focused, and makes a bee-line for someone who is not in shot as he shouts.
Cort (huffing and puffing): What did I tell ya!?
As he says this, the camera pans towards OCW World Heavyweight Champion Doc Green who at this point is stood up from his chair, having just watched Cort Marshall successfully defeat AC Cobra on the TV.
He extends his arm for a handshake as one final attempt at a show of respect for Cort, who surprisingly takes it.
Cort: Grip like a limp cod. As expected of someone from across the pond!
Cort once again does that annoying fake laugh.
Doc: No formalities, huh? Should’ve guessed to be fair, this ‘respect’ thing doesn’t get past you anymore, does it?
Cort: OCW has disrespected me too many times for me to just hand it out like that participation ribbon on your shoulder. Tell ya what… we’ll see who respects who after I take it from ya.
Doc: I look forward to seeing you try, old man.
Doc bumps Cort on the shoulder as he moves out of frame, the future investment holder pulling a wry smile as he grips his side.
