The scene opens in the backstage area, the usual flatscreen TV in the background indicating the usual backstage interview space, a very annoyed looking Jim Black looking down to his watch as he waits.

JB: Where is this guy, we’re ten minutes over time..

Just then, on frame comes the former CCW champion Wrex, adorned in his usual jacket, he doesn’t even pretend to offer an apology for his tardiness, simply taking the microphone from his hands, and staring until he leaves.

Wrex: ..Why did I stop, a question I’ve heard a time or two, why didn’t I go for the kill, he was right there! You had him..

Wrex: He wanted to say I was hiding, wanted to say I had no fight, guess I had to prove him wrong.

Wrex: Doc, that was simply a taste, a reminder, just because I’m not on full view of the world, I’m preparing, prideful or not, I’m here to back up what I say, so run your mouth all you want, little man, but always be ready to cash your cheques.

The sound of a commotion can be heard off screen, as OCW World Champion DOC arrives, urged by several OCW Staffers not to engage with Wrex. With the title strapped over his shoulder, he stares daggers through Wrex as he approaches.

DOC: Look who decided to finally show up. You know, Wrex, despite everything you’ve done in the past, I still looked to you as the blueprint of what the greatest CCW Champion of all time should look like. After last week, I now realise how stupid that was, bruv.

DOC: You’re not a role model, not for anyone in the OCW Crowd, and least of all not for yourself.

DOC: I have my own issues with Tony and his methods these days, and there’s still things me and him need to talk about man to man, but I personally can’t wait to see him kick your arse next week, and I’m gonna have a front row seat.

Wrex: DOC.. when did I ever claim to be a role model? If you’re looking up to me as your hero, you must’ve made a wrong turn in life, I’m not here to be a role model, I never got into this to be a role model, and you’re right, I’m not even a role model to myself.. A perfectionist never is.

Wrex: But.. you’re really gonna try and say I’m not the blueprint? Really?

Wrex: You’re right, I’m not the blueprint for the CCW championship.. I’m the blueprint of a champion, because no matter how long or little I hold gold.. I hold that gold, it’s the gold of this company, I won and lost that thing in.. one week?

Wrex: Two? Was still the thing that was talked about.. Still main evented the next three pay per views.. Why? Because I was in contention.

Wrex: And as for Tony? I look forward to fighting him, never got the chance, time to see how good the better champion fairs.

DOC: And that’s just your problem, ain’t it? You convince yourself you’re not a role model for these people, so you don’t have to face the fact that you don’t have what it takes to carry the flag of this company.

DOC: Maybe if you didn’t spend your time riding the high from pay-per-view to pay-per-view, you’d see the bigger picture and realise you have a responsibility to be the best in the world, and repay the trust and chances that this company has given you time and time again.

Wrex: Repay the trust? Chances? DOC every chance I’ve ever really got, I earned, I took.. Every single time I held that title, it’s cause I made it crystal clear, there wasn’t going to be a match unless I was in it.

Wrex: I’ve carried that flag, time and time again. I have what it takes, I always have, don’t mistake my understanding for delusion.

Wrex: I didn’t take that belt to your head, because I respect you.. Respected you, your fire, your fight.. Don’t make me regret my choice, because next time, I will make it hurt.

DOC: Trust me, the feeling’s mutual, but if you’re trying to change like you claim to be, I wanna see it with my own two eyes, Wrex. Till then, you’re still everything they say you are. See you next week, bro.

The scene fades out as the two are separated and the camera cuts away.
