It's a Match!

The sound of 'ooh's' and 'aah's' can be heard in the background as a match is going on in the arena. Our view pans around the trainers room, where Terra Daturas sits patiently on the medical staff's chair, kicking her feet just above the ground.

She looks up at the small TV inside the trainers room, watching Sue Plex vs Lotus FloJo. Her expression remains stoic, even as she watches her wife begin to mount a comeback against the former Women's Champion.

She continues to watch as Sue lands a belly to belly suplex, throwing her hands up and staring into the hard camera. She smiles slightly before her gaze is broken by the trainer re-entering the room. She looks back at him as he scratches the back of his neck and lets out a sigh.

Terra's eyes begin to dart around the room nervously before landing on the doc's clipboard, which he shuffles through before nodding to Terra. Terra silently shakes her head back and forth in response.

The doc twists his mouth, signifying his own disappointment. Terra lets out a breathy chuckle, and shakes her head again.

Doctor:
Let's just talk about the impro-

Terra: No.

Terra: I passed everything.

Terra throws her head back towards the tv, catching the end of the match, as Sue Plex manages to pick up the pinfall victory over Lotus FloJo. She immediately starts breathing heavily and grabs at her chest, before looking back at the doctor.

Doctor:
Please try to calm down.

Terra: Calm down?!

Doctor: Things are improving. There was a time where we thought we may never clear you again and now-

Terra: What?

Terra continues breathing heavy as she looks up at the screen again, trying to contain herself.

The screen transitions from the smiling, victorious face of Sue Plex to an advertisement for the Queen of OCW tournament. Sue is revealed as a participant and Terra winces, devastated at the bittersweet announcement.

Doctor:
Now, based on our last 2 meetings, there is significant improvement. Head injuries are serious Terra.

Doctor: You understand that right?

Terra looks away from the screen as the Queen of OCW tournament ad fades. She slowly looks back to the doctor with defeat in her eyes.

Doctor:
You need more time. You might not like it, but it's my job to protect you from yourself.

Terra moves her hand off of her chest and slows her breathing. She peers at the ground with a blank stare on her face.

Doctor:
There has been significant improvement. I think if this continues and we don't have anymore setbacks, I could see you back in the ring by early next year.

Terra's expression does not change. She raises her head to look straight at the doctor, seemingly looking through him, hoping to wake up from the nightmare she's experiencing.

Doctor:
I'm sorry, Terra. I know you were hoping to compete in the Queen of OCW Tournament, I just wouldn't feel comfortable signing my name to something and putting your health at risk. Forget your wrestling career for a second and think about your health as a person.

Terra stands from the chair and walks past the doctor.

Terra:
Thank you for your help.

She opens the door and closes it gently behind her, her expression unchanging the entire way. Her pace quickens as she starts walking down the hall, towards the exit. She passes the gorilla position just as Sue throws the curtain open. Sue smiles and rushes her wife, squeezing Terra in the hallway and jumping for joy at her win.

Terra:
Congratulations! I am so proud of you!

Sue: Did you see that?! I've always wanted to hit that!

Terra: You are amazing and I know you are going to win the entire tournament.

Sue: Yes! And we can both face off in the finals!

Terra's blank expression breaks, as her happiness for her partner is too much for the disappointment to overcome. She smiles back at Sue.

Terra:
Yes, I would love that. So so much.

The two women embrace again as Terra notices the doctor approach OCW General Manager Empress just outside the curtain. While we're unable to hear what is being said, Empress shakes her head as she looks up at Terra.

The two former rivals lock eyes and share a nod of understanding before Empress heads back through the curtain and we fade out.

It's a Match!

It's a Match!

The segment fades into a large white table. Sitting upright on the table are recently released OCW figurines. On the far end of the table, a modern Papa Kass figurine rests, hands held outward in front of the others. Behind the figure, KD'Angelo, Furiosa, Chris Greene, and La Mujera all have figures in various pieces of gear.

Like moving a chess piece across the board, an Inness Quartz figure is slid forward, facing Kassidy Hayes' figure. The screen zooms out in a fade, revealing what has to be 20 action figures on the other end of the table, behind Quartz.

Walking in, standing over the table with a grim look on his face is the CCW Champion, in the flesh... The view focuses on Quartz and the various figures of OCW wrestlers past and present behind him.

Quartz:
'Pieces on a board'. 'Clay soldiers'.

Quartz: Kassidy Hayes.

The scene changes, now focusing on Kassidy's figure and his minions.

Quartz:
You have managed to sink your claws into some of the brightest this industry has to offer. Former champions. Current legends. Future stars.

The view pans up, focusing on Quartz, who is observing the table of figures intensely.

Quartz:
There have been so many times in my life where I felt I was losing control.

The champion peers back at the many figures standing behind him.

Quartz:
...and yet I was able to fight through it.

Quartz: You are only the latest demon to try and knock me to a place I cannot recover from.

Quartz: Unfortunately for you, Kassidy Hayes. You have no idea what kind of man I really am. You and your goons have consistently mistaken my composure for frailty.

Quartz: ...I know that things continue to look more and more bleak by the second as men and women I respect come up short to Kasstianity.

Quartz: But I've been fighting a war against myself since the very moment I was born. I've been fighting wars against forces far greater in number and in substance to you, Kassidy Alexander Hayes.

Quartz: You may see this war a different way. The same way you've viewed everything in your career. You may see this as a matter of time. A matter of time before you hold this CCW championship and complete some kind of prophecy.

Quartz: That you can wear me down through attacks, mind games, or by going after the OCW faithful.

Quartz: But you are simply not prepared to deal with who I am, who OCW is, what we live for.

Without warning, Quartz slams his fist down on the Kassidy Hayes figure, smashing it into pieces. He swipes his arms across the table, knocking each plastic figure across the dark room. He shouts the air from his lungs as he lifts the table, flipping it to the other side of the room.

Quartz:
Because this is not a GAME! I am not simply a Clay Soldier! This is MY GOD DAMN LIFE.

Quartz: Every war I've fought, every battle I've survived, every encounter I've withstood, they have prepared me for a blight like you.

Quartz: I have muddied my hands in places you wouldn't dare to walk. I have bled for causes you couldn't imagine!

Quartz: All of this has been taken away from me more times than you can count, and even through it all, I am standing here, telling you as clearly as I possibly can, that you are unprepared to fight for as long as I am.

Quartz: I trust the men in this locker room because this is their lives too. This is all they've ever wanted, same as me.

Quartz: ...Allies are nice to have, but if I have to fight every single one of you by myself until one of us breathes our last breath... I will.

Quartz: This might be a chess game to you, but for guys like me? It's life and death. I hope you understand what you're going to need to do to take this championship from me. I hope you're willing to live with it. I've already been through it. I already know how to live with it.

Quartz: I didn't ask to represent OCW, but I damn sure am not going to back down and let it fall into your hands.

The champion kicks the table one last time, sending it flying into the opposing wall, before walking out of the room, leaving the carnage of toys in his wake. The scene fades as the view focuses on the sinister plastic grin of the Kassidy Hayes figure.
