The crowd are on their feet cheering for Garcia’s win as he rises from the mat, brandishing his title like a war trophy. He motions to ringside for a microphone as Cort gets up as well, clambering on the ropes.
CG: Cort! Man, you put up a hell of a fight. Nobody can take that away from you. Thank you for this, man.
The weary and aching CG extends a hand to Cort.
Cort, sweating profusely and in no great shape himself, looks down at the offered hand. He looks left, then right, at the crowd for approval, and they cheer as he throws one arm back, then forward… only to drop it at the last second and “too slow” the North American Champion.
CG looks somewhere between annoyed and disappointed as Cort walks past him and leaves the ring to a chorus of boos.
Cort walks up the ramp, distinctly keeping his back to the man who beat him for the three count. About halfway up, he stops to consider the unfriendly crowd, scratches his chin… and gives the Wembley fans the finger.
They boo even louder but he just keeps walking ‘til he’s out of sight.
