Our screen fills swiftly, B-17 is in a locker room, talking to someone off camera.
B17: I was in the back, ribs taped up, eye closed shut. I could barely move. But there I was watching Jacob Trance vs. Nate Ortiz. And cheering, wincing, yelling at the damn rookies to move.
And then.
Well then I saw something that really pissed me off. It pissed a lot of people off actually.
Aries. We should be excited to see you. A legend returns...again. But everytime you pop up misery and disappointment follow.
You attacked the legend. The legend. You blotted a moment that fans have wanted to experience for years.
But maybe even more disappointing, where the hell was Jacob Trance?
The match was just over. You were the closest to the ring. You sat back and let Aries get revenge, didn't you?
The camera pans sidewards, revealing none other than the man he is questioning, Jacob Trance.
Trance: You’re asking me if I knew if my former brother in law, former tag partner, best friend, one time mentor was going to attack my opponent after my match?
Trance smirks and shrugs sarcastically.
Trance: Of course not. How am I going to know that Bingo? I didn’t even know my ex-wife was sleeping with someone that considered themselves my friend and my adversary… So let’s cut through the cheese, you’re the world heavyweight champion… And you’ve never beaten me one on one… So you can see where this is going, brother.
B17 shook his head.
B17: That's not how this works. This isn't 2010. You don't get too Demand title shots and you don't get to talk about her as if it's some sort of betrayal.
Trance: But betrayal is what you do… Sparks, Kassidy. Seth… I could go on and on, but let’s just call it what it is. You’re nothing more than a rebound champion… And a rebound husband.
B17 glares at him.
B17: Out of respect...for you. Something in short supply nowadays...I'm gonna give you an opportunity to say that again.
Trance smiled unconcerned and brought the mic back to his mouth.
Trance: Respect? Respect isn’t taking someone’s sloppy seconds because they can’t get a guy to lie down for them, they rebound onto their ex-wi...
B17 let his rage get the best of him and hit Trance across the face. Trance staggered backwards, but before he could collect himself B17 was swinging again. Trance stumbled into the corner of the room, scattering chairs and bags over.
Trance pushed him off to create separation. B17 crashed to the floor, rolled backwards and rushed at Trance before jumping for a Bingo punch.
But it was scouted.
Instead Trance leaped up and caught Bingo with the Codebreaker.
Panting, Trance returned to his feet.
Trance: Summercide. I restore natural order.
With nothing else, he leaves, slamming the door behind him, leaving the champion trying to recollect himself after the encounter.
