We suddenly cut backstage to find Harri Etiquette holding the back of her head, storming down the hall with Ashley in pursuit.
Harri: They cheated! How’re you gonna have two people against us in a match? It’s totally unbalanced!
Harri, upon seeing a table, takes a running start, cartwheels towards it, and slides across the table, knocking everything on it to the ground.
Ashley: Ted screwed us over. He didn’t have control over the match and that count was way too fast if you ask me.
Harri stops and looks around in a fuss, probably looking for something else to break in frustration.
Harri: It’s not even the fast count! Why am I gonna give a shit if, instead of giving everyone what they want, they make Harri Etiquette (etiquette, etiquette) stand by the ring for a billion years? It’s bull-
Terra: Unfortunate ending to your match, Harri.
Harri stops looking around and focuses her gaze on the two women who stand beside the door to the women’s locker room, which is slightly cracked open.
Terra and Sue Plex, Terra with her arms crossed and Sue’s on her hips, both smirking at Harri Etiquette and Ashley Moore.
Harri: Whatever! How ‘bout you guys go play with your broom or some shit?
Terra: Aw, what an immature thing to say. I think you should use this opportunity to help you grow!
Sue: Jeez Harri, you look like a pickled beetroot that’s been marinadin’ in tomato juice for a few weeks, you’re gonna blow a gasket.
Harri stomps her foot on the ground and shouts back at the women.
Harri:I DO NOT NEED TO GROW. You know, back in 2002 everyone said I was the best at growing! Flowers, watermelons, teeth, you name it, I-
Ashley: Why do you two think you can pick on a rookie? I don’t remember seeing you win anything of importance yet.
Terra: That is odd, because Sue and I are undefeated together. You both have already suffered your first defeat.
Sue: Yeah, it’s sorta like challengin’ a monkey to a climbin’ contest if you’re a fish… Admirable but about as dumb as a box of rocks.
Harri takes an angered step towards Sue and Terra, who do not budge, before Ashley “holds her back”.
Ashley: We don’t have time for this, you’ll both get what is coming to you soon enough. C’mon, Harri. Let’s get changed and get out of this dump.
Ashley: And Terra, you are the worst!
Harri shakes her fists at her sides, before pushing forward through the locker room door. Terra and Sue step away as the sound of a huge splash is followed by a metallic ‘donk’.
The camera spins around to see a huge bucket of water has fallen on Harri and Ashley’s heads, who both stand in the doorway, soaking wet and frozen in anger
Terra: There you go. That water should help you grow.
Sue: Now they just need to go for a lil’ walk to calm down and soak up some sun!
Terra and Sue smile at each other before walking down the hall.
Harri kicks the bucket with immense force and inhales to scream, which is cut off by a transition to the next segment.
We cut to Cort Marshall in street clothes, in front of a camera. Cort is holding a half-empty beer in one hand, sloshing the liquid inside as he talks to the lens.
Cort: So, OWEN. Me. You. Devil’s Night.
He takes a drink.
Cort: Good. I think we’ve both got some things to prove. Same kind of thing you tried to prove to KD tonight, maybe.
Cort: Don’t get me wrong. It was a good effort. Hell, I thought you had it for a while. But there’s a reason why they call him the gatekeeper, why he’s an OCW lifer, and why when I beat him for my Pride title everyone was shocked. I lost to him a couple of times since… usually when I had something to prove.
Cort: So I hope tonight doesn’t distract you in our match, because when I beat you, I want to beat the best version of OWEN that exists. I want it to be EMPHATIC.
Cort:
So all these doubters and nay-sayers and people on my ass about my failed main event attempts or tag team titles or whatever…
He looks to the side and tosses the can.
Cort: … Can shut their mouths and know why Cort Marshall is here, and what he can do--and that nobody is taking his place as the pure wrestling tough guy here anytime soon.
Cort:
You get your focus, you get The Wrestling Club and whoever else out of your face, and then… you get through me. If you’re lucky.
