It’s another cold November night in Brooklyn where Turmoil is being broadcasted Live from the Barclay’s Center. Almost to spite the weather itself, the show has been hot so far, and it’s only going to get hotter as Stacy Clarke interviews AWOL backstage!
Stacy: Cort, Shepherd, welcome to Turmoil! How are you feeling ahead of tonight’s match?
Cort: Stacy, I’d love to tell you, but first… where’s Jim?
Stacy: What do you mean?
Cort: Well, you know, he’s always interviewing me… feels kinda… weird without him here.
Stacy: I hope you don’t mean to imply I’m not a qualified professional, Mr. Marshall.
Cort: No, never!
Stacy: And besides, it’s nice to get away from some of the thugs, sleazeballs, and Nazi impersonators around here for a minute! So. The match tonight.
Cort looks thankful he didn’t get chewed out any more.
Cort: Yes, the match. Well… you know, Stacy, I don’t think I can be quite as overly enthusiastic as usual.
Stacy: Because of your losing effort against Bobby Minio on Riot?
Cort rubs a hand over his face.
Cort: Well, that hurt, especially after all the trash he talked, but… no. I laid the smackdown for most of that match, I just overextended myself and got popped with the TDR. Minio beat me, but, you know, it was close. Mugen doesn’t beat people. He kills people. And Drago? He kills people’s careers. So I think it would be perfectly fair to say this might be our toughest challenge in OCW yet.
Stacy: And how about you, Shepherd?
Shep: Unpopular opinion: I’m not afraid. P3? Overrated. I know Drago’s got the uppercut, but I’ve got the kick that won tag team gold. I’ve got the kick that’s broken streaks and broken noses all around the world. I’ve never been more confident in what I’m going out there to do. Shepherd out.
Cort looks over at his tag partner, surprised.
Cort: Well! I’m impressed! If that’s what the man says, that’s what’s gonna happen! Cause he don’t lie, and we don’t… uh… can’t think of a fitting rhyme for that. But consider yourselves on notice! CQC, you got two top-shelf teams gunning for your gold, and no matter which one wins, you lose! So keep your TTT brothers close, ‘cause revenge is a dish best served on National TV, hoo-ah!
Shep nods.
Shep: Right you are… right you are.
Stacy: That about wraps it up. Good luck, gentlemen, I’ll be looking forward to it!
She mumbles the next line under her breath as the camera fades out.
Stacy: Maybe not as much as Wrex getting beaten up by the B Community, though.
Austin you look so happy.
You have to know why.
We are so close 1 more match.
Benji vs Code Jackman
The camera pans to the announce team.
Well your wait is almost over.
How are you feeling right now?
Like this box just may be the highlight of my career.
As the camera cuts in from the previous segment we see Thomas Archer already standing in the ring. The boos are flowing in from all over the arena as Archer lifts his hand to try and quell the noise.
Archer: Quiet, peasants, I wish to speak!
This does nothing but fuel the fans disdain.
Archer: When the 0.5% speak, you need to listen. We got our status for a reason; not being lazy, no-good, hand-out goblins like yourselves!
If the volume of the crowd could get any louder it would. It takes a time for the crowds throats to get sore enough to stop with the berating and jeers so that Thomas can speak.
Archer: Now, as I was trying to say, we at 0.5% Studios have been able to create a short film over the last week starring none other than Justin Jehst’s hunny, sweetie-pie, Elsa Holmberg.
Archer: A tasteful erotic thriller, one I’m sure you will all enjoy. Staff member #28, roll the footage!
The camera cuts to the X-tron to show a scene of a dimly lit, cobblestone street, lined with small brick houses. Rain falls from the night sky as the camera begins to focus on one house in particular. The letterbox reads “69”.
Cutting to the interior of the house we see a candle-lit living room. Lying on a 3-seater sofa in a fairly seductive pose is Elsa, dressed in a red robe.
From the left of the screen walks a man, dressed in a black leather jacket, leather motorcycle pants, and leather road gloves with boots to cap off the outfit. His bald head turns to reveal a scar across his right eye, as well as a black goatee on his chin.
Elsa: I’ve been waiting. Is he dead?
Leather Man: It’s all dun, luv. He won’t be bovverin’ you no more. You should see his life insurance moolah in ya bank account by next weekend, long as the insurance wankers don’t smell a rat. I was in an’ out, no mess; I’m sure abou’it.
Elsa: Well then… I told you what I would do in exchange for this favour… Come over here…
She follows her statement with a seductive finger motion for him to approach. As he gets to the couch, he bends slightly and places his hand behind her head, pulling gently towards himself to get her on her feet. They stare at each other for a moment before going in for a kiss. Before the two actors lips touch, however, the screen goes to static.
The camera cuts back to Archer in the ring who is livid and yelling at any OCW staff members around the ringside area to get it working again.
The X-tron then quickly cuts to show Justin Jehst backstage furiously swinging a mallet at the audio-visual machine the film was screening from. Sparks fly as he smashes the head of it into the machine for a final time.
AV Tech: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!
Jehst: What I should have done a long time ago…
With that, he leaves the scene. The camera follows him, hammer in hand, all the way out to the stage area. As he hobbles with seemingly more ease than previous occasions on his moonboot leg, he emerges to a hail of cheers from the fans.
He grabs a mic from the stagehand nearby.
Jehst: Ok, Archer! That’s it! You’re little ‘stick-poking’ experiment is over! You’ve used me for your amusement long enough!
The camera cuts to Archer who just smirks in reaction. It then reverts back to Jehst who stares at Archer for a moment before looking down at the mallet in his hand – then down to his moonboot. As he does this, the crowd noise begins to swell. He puts the hammer down at his feet and begins unstrapping his moonboot, eventually ripping it off, picking the hammer back up, and walking with purpose towards the ring. The crowd are now at speaker popping levels as they see Jehst is now finally healed.
He gets about two thirds of the way down the ramp before “The World is Yours” begins to play. The crowd don’t know whether to pop for the bossman or boo for the interruption to a possible hammer-to-face collision.
Sensation: JEHSTMAN CEASE MOVEMENT THIS INSTANT!
He pauses and turns slowly to face Our Hero.
Sensation: You really gonna strike Chubby ass Richie Rich with a damn tenderiser? You lost ya goddamn mind?! WHAT IS THIS THE GOLDEN ERA? Next you will set some kind of fire in tubbys home! Or maybe carve your name into his muffin tops…….
Sensation: NEGATIVE GHOST RIDER, this is MY WORLD AND YOU BOTH ARE JUST PAYING RENT!…
Sensation: You two are not to lay a finger on each other! As much as I’d love to see you throw that overstuffed, overfed, trust fund baby into the Hudson River, things have gotten out of hand on Turmoil as well as Riot! I don’t care if Thunder Thighs takes a dump in ya lotion bottles; you do not lay a finger on him!
The crowd begin to boo at the restrictions placed on the Hollywood star.
Sensation: Because at Devils Night, we put this all to bed - - -
The audience pops huge.
Sensation: - - - IN A TABLES CON LADDERS CON CHAIRS! MATCH!
The arena fills with cheers as the match type is announced. The camera cuts to Archer who is pacing back and forth, inaudibly speaking at Sensation, assumedly complaining. Cutting back to Jehst we see him smile, then look back at Archer, smirking with venomous intention.
Sensation: Above the ring will be a briefcase. In that briefcase will be a contract. Within that contract will be conditions agreed upon by both parties at the contract signing to sort this whole contractual mess out once and for all… And the contract signing will be - - - next week!
Again, the fans show their excitement.
Sensation: Now get your stupid asses out of the arena, we’ve got a show to run!
As Sensations music hits to cue the end of the segment, the camera cuts to Jehst who gestures at Archer that he is going to smack the shit outta him when they meet. Archer responds, mouthing at Justin and brushing off his comments. The scene fades.
